Job summary

Exmark, a division of The Toro Company, is seeking a Weld Technician in Beatrice, Nebraska. You will read blueprints, set up welding cells, and perform MIG tack and seam welds to produce high-quality mower components. A strong safety mindset and readiness to learn various product lines are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions clearly.
• Experience with MIG welding and various welders.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Selects weld jig, positions and secures parts by hand or hoist.
• Performs MIG tack welds and seam welds as required.
• Sets up welding cells for production runs.
• Buffs and inspects welded surfaces to meet quality standards.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and follows 5S initiatives.
• Performs daily maintenance on fixtures and equipment; learns multiple product lines.
• Applies Lean methods to improve processes and quality.

Hours: 1st Shift hours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm Pay: $22.24 plus $2.00 differential for a total of $24.24

What Will You Do?

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
• Selects appropriate weld jig, positions and secures piece parts in weld jig by loading parts by hand or by hoist
• Performs MIG tack welds and seam welds based on project needs
• Sets up welding cells for production runs
• Buff and inspect welded surfaces to insure quality standards are met
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and active participation in all 5S efforts and initiatives
• Perform daily maintenance tasks on fixtures including but not limited to running robot through torch alignment, clean fixtures, change weld consumables (tips, nozzles, diffusers)
• Strives to meet all established safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards
• Continually seeks to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of product
• Ability to learn a variety of different product lines
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved
• Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

What Do You Need?

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Some technical knowledge and ability to follow standard work and procedures
• Ability and experience in using a variety of different welders and demonstrated welding techniques
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly; 25 pounds frequently; 40 pounds occasionally
