Job summary

Quanex in Trumann, Arkansas, is seeking a Welder for 1st shift to join our production team. You will read blueprints, prepare parts, and MIG-weld roof scuttles, doorway components, and other architectural products with steel or aluminum.

We emphasize safety, quality, and teamwork, with potential overtime on Fridays and a wage range of $19.00–$23.00 per hour. A welding test will be administered during the interview process.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in welding of stainless steel and/or aluminum parts.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Availability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review drawing to double-check dimensions of unit, and determine placement of hinges, lock, cover and frame.
• Move parts onto table and position stiffeners, reinforcements, shoes, and weld following standard procedures.
• Operate MIG welding machine and use hammer, chisel, wire cutters, ruler, clamps as appropriate.
• Move completed unit weighing up to 300 lb ten feet to the table and then to the aisle.
• Follow all plant safety rules and regulations and ISO 9001 standards.
