Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, shop drawings, and fabrication specs.
• Must have MIG (GMAW) welding experience and a working knowledge of measuring tools.
• Careful with fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions. Able to use weld gauges.
• Capable of working independently while meeting quality and production expectations.
• Detail oriented with commitment to high-quality fabrication work.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and weld structural steel components used in equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding specs, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Plan work sequences and determine efficient layout, fit-up, assembly, and welding.
• Perform MIG welding on various fabricated steel components, including multi-pass welds.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, weld positioners, robotic welding equipment, and related tools.
• Position, align, clamp, bolt, and tack-weld components for proper fit and accuracy.
• Inspect finished work for conformance to print specs and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot fit-up/fabrication issues with teammates and supervisors.
• Repair, modify, and rework components as needed.
• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and other shop equipment.
• Cross-train in other manufacturing areas to support production needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
