Job summary

Qualified Staffing in Flint, MI is seeking a MIG Welder for 1st and 2nd shift on a contract-to-hire basis. Pay is $19.00 per hour, with a 2nd shift premium of $0.55 per hour and an attendance incentive of up to $1.40 per hour weekly for meeting attendance and punctuality.

The role requires MIG fabrication welding experience, ability to read drawings, operate cranes/forklifts, and weld in multiple positions while maintaining safety and quality standards. Training and certifications are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MIG fabrication welding experience.
• Ability to read tape measures and weld symbols.
• Must pass MIG weld test.
• Experience with crane and forklift handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, assemble, and MIG weld carbon steel per drawings.
• Read blueprints and specs to determine weld dimensions and procedures.
• Prepare materials for welding through clamping, grinding, and positioning.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials and parts.
• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on welds to meet ASME standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on welding and material handling equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and keep work area clean and organized.
