Waterford School in Utah seeks a part-time Math/Science tutor for Middle and Upper School students. Tutoring typically occurs twice weekly, 40–50 minutes per session, during and after school hours. The tutor will develop lesson plans, track progress, and communicate with parents and teachers.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Math Department, maintain organized records in Google Drive, and support Waterford’s mission and values in a caring educational environment.

Located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, Waterford School, with an enrollment of 1,100 is Utah’s premier liberal arts college preparatory independent school for students in Preschool through High School. Math/Science tutoring involves one-on-one tutoring with students in Waterford Middle School and Waterford Upper School. Tutoring sessions usually occur two times per week. Sessions are 40-50 minutes, and take place both during school and after school hours Monday through Friday. The tutoring position includes the following expectations:

Competencies and Skills Desired:

• Demonstrate proficiency in upper-level math and/or science subjects.
• Create individualized lesson plans based on student needs.
• Build foundational skills while supporting current coursework.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
• Complete student progress reports each term.
• Maintain organized student records in Google Drive.
• Use Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Canvas effectively.
• Monitor student grades, assignments, and teacher updates in Canvas.
• Attend weekly tutor meetings.
• Participate in required fall training with the Math Department Chair.
