Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach

The Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting all aspects of the program alongside the head coach. The coach must demonstrate strong leadership in player and staff development, sportsmanship, integrity, and character development. Qualified candidates should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a deep knowledge of volleyball skills and strategies relevant to Virginia interscholastic athletics.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Fostering appreciation for athletics, good sportsmanship, and pride among participants and spectators.
2. Supporting training, conditioning, and performance enhancement of athletes.
3. Maintaining current knowledge of strength and conditioning programs for competition cheer.
4. Executing off-season programs within VHSL regulations.
5. Promoting academic excellence and monitoring student-athlete academic standards.
6. Engaging in the college recruiting process for team members.
7. Demonstrating strong knowledge of VHSL rules.
8. Promoting the program within the school and community.
9. Collaborating with other athletic coaches to ensure a balanced athletic program.
10. Working with the Athletic Director to prepare schedules and recommend equipment needs.
11. Managing equipment inventory and care.
12. Ensuring all athletes have valid medical examinations and meet participation requirements.
13. Maintaining eligibility lists and recommending students for varsity awards.
14. Engaging positively with parents of competition cheer participants.
15. Building relationships with local middle school athletes and establishing a presence through summer camps and clinics.
16. Performing additional duties as assigned by the principal or athletic director.
