Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Middle School Track program under the direction of the Varsity Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Teach fundamental track and field techniques, emphasizing proper form and athlete safety.
  • Ensure all athletic activities conform to the BHAS Athletic Handbook.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Student Oversight: Ensure the continual supervision of student‑athletes on the track, during conditioning, and in locker‑shower rooms.
  • Academic Support: Monitor and support student‑athlete adherence to training rules, grade policies, and behavioral standards.
  • Professionalism: React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Job Summary

The Middle School Track Coach promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This role provides leadership and supervision for the middle school team, focusing on foundational skill development and preparing student-athletes for the transition to high school athletics.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of High School participation in Track and Field.
  • Experience coaching the sport or working with youth athletes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with middle school‑aged students.
  • Preferred: College playing experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination: Supervise the Middle School Track program under the direction of the Varsity Coach and Athletic Director.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. This role involves outdoor activity in various weather conditions.
