Lockwood School in Kentucky is seeking a Middle School Cross Country Coach to lead and develop a competitive program focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, character, and personal growth.

You will create safe, positive environments for student-athletes, plan daily practices, coach during meets, and model integrity and leadership while encouraging academic success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Cross Country rules, techniques, and coaching principles.
• Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with middle school-aged students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to pass all required background checks and district certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practices that focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and game strategy.
• Coach student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Foster good sportsmanship, discipline, respect, and a positive team culture.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the athletic director.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team activities.
• Maintain and inventory team equipment and uniforms.
• Follow all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
• Encourage academic success and model positive leadership and professionalism.
• Attend required coaches' meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Position Summary:
