Position Summary

The Middle School Science Teacher Assistant (TA) supports student success by collaborating with educators. The ideal candidate is motivated, energetic, and mission-aligned, providing engaging care in various settings such as classrooms, lunchrooms, recess, and one-on-one support. This is a 10-month position, supervised by a school leadership team member and the lead teacher. The salary range is between $32,000 and $35,000 depending on experience.

Core Responsibilities
  • Implement small and whole group lessons using the required curriculum
  • Manage and engage students during recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and classroom activities
  • Support students with behavioral challenges using trauma-informed practices and Responsive Classroom techniques (professional development provided)
  • Track student progress and maintain data
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and clean school environment
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to optimize instructional practices
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in professional development sessions
  • Attend school-wide meetings
  • Support after-school programs as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned
