Job summary

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Special Education Teacher for McCarthy Middle School in Chelmsford, MA. Assignment dates: 08/31/2026–09/27/2026. Salary: $200 per day. Applicants must hold MA DESE license: PreK-8 or 5-12 Moderate Special Needs. Position is full-time.

Responsibilities include providing special education instruction in a co-taught setting, supporting students outside class, and collaborating with staff to meet student needs. Citizenship or work visa may be required.

Qualifications

• MA DESE Teaching License: PreK-8 or 5-12 Moderate Special Needs license.
• Experience with IEP development.
• Experience modifying/adapting curriculum to meet student needs.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Training and experience with specialized reading programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education instruction for students in a co-taught setting and provide academic support outside of the classroom setting.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and administration to meet student needs.
