Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university.
• MA DESE Teaching License – PreK-8 or 5-12 Moderate Special Needs license is required.
• Experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS) preferred or willing to be trained.
• Experience with IEP development and curriculum modification/adaptation.

Responsibilities

• Design, supervise and implement students’ IEP plans.
• Instruct students using specialized reading programs such as OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc.
• Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations.
• Participate in IEP Team meetings and write effective IEPs.
• Collect/analyze student data and monitor progress.
• Coordinate services with a team of professionals and consult with general education teachers.
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to support inclusion.
• Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals and administer various diagnostic assessments.
