FOREST PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL in Springfield, Massachusetts is seeking a Special Education teacher for grades 6-8 starting August 2026. This role centers on delivering high-quality, inclusive instruction within the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership and collaborating with co-teachers and families to support student growth.

The ideal candidate will hold a Massachusetts Moderate Disabilities license (or be eligible for a waiver) and possess a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at middle/high school level.
• Massachusetts DESE license in Moderate Disabilities or eligible for waiver.
• Ability to support a range of learners through strong instruction and relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curriculum and effective instructional strategies.
• Use data and formative assessment to adjust instruction and promote academic growth.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including co-teaching teams and PLCs, and engage families as partners.
• Uphold school-wide expectations and participate in ongoing professional growth.
