Job summary

The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership in Massachusetts is seeking educators for grades 6-8 starting August 17, 2026, to provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and to foster a sense of belonging in school.

Educators will collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and participate in professional learning to support students' academic growth and future opportunities, while upholding high expectations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
• Massachusetts DESE educator license in Moderate Disabilities; licensure waiver possible if not licensed.
• Demonstrated ability to support a range of learners through strong instruction and relationship-building.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curriculum and effective instructional strategies.
• Ensure all students can access grade-level content through thoughtful lesson design, scaffolding, and embedded supports.
• Use student data and formative assessment to adjust instruction and promote academic growth.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students grounded in consistency, respect, and high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in co-teaching teams and professional learning communities; engage families as partners.
• Support students in developing skills, habits, and confidence for success in high school and beyond.
• Participate in professional learning, coaching, and feedback cycles.
• Model strong practice and support future educators through hosting residents or student teachers.
