We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in Denver, Colorado, dedicated to democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families. Our mission is driven by our commitment to equity, collaboration, and student achievement.

Role Mission

Special Education Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep are vital in creating inclusive, achievement-oriented learning environments. You will provide individualized instruction based on IEPs, lead development of IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs, and collaborate with staff to support student growth and success. Your work will ensure compliance with regulations and focus on holistic development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research-based, individualized instruction aligned with IEPs.
  • Lead IEP meetings, ensuring families understand and are engaged in their child's educational planning.
  • Conduct evaluations, reevaluations, FBAs, BIPs, and manage caseloads efficiently.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure effective accommodations and modifications.
  • Create engaging, individualized interventions across content areas using data-driven techniques.
  • Support paraprofessionals and other staff supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Maintain compliance with reporting requirements and communicate effectively with families.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (any subject)
  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education endorsement (5-21)
  • Background check clearance
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Experience with special needs populations
  • Knowledge of ABC data collection
  • Case management experience
  • CPI/NCI training
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $62,000 - $92,800 based on experience
  • Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance, disability, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
