Qualifications

We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of educators, families, scholars, and advocates transforming public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for marginalized students. We operate a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in Denver, serving students from twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

Role Mission

Special Education Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep foster inclusive, achievement-driven environments, providing individualized instruction aligned with IEPs, and leading development and implementation of IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs. They work collaboratively to ensure academic excellence and holistic development, using data to monitor progress and partnering with general education staff and service providers.

All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:
  • Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data, maximizing instructional time, and promoting growth.
  • Engage in professional development and coaching, embracing feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Be punctual, prepared, and professional for all commitments.
  • Create an inclusive classroom culture fostering belonging and respect.
  • Build strong relationships with families through communication and engagement.
  • Model RMP's PEAK values: Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver effective instruction and interventions.
  • Participate in school initiatives, professional development, and recruitment efforts.
  • Support daily school operations to ensure safety and organization.
Special Education Teachers will also:
  • Provide research-based, individualized instruction per IEPs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate IEPs and related assessments.
  • Lead IEP meetings, communicate effectively with families, and manage caseloads.
  • Collaborate to ensure accommodations/modifications are effectively implemented.
  • Deliver targeted interventions, utilizing data-informed techniques.
  • Support paraprofessionals and other staff in delivering support.
  • Maintain organized documentation of student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and policies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree (any subject)
  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education endorsement (5-21)
  • Background check clearance
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. (E-Verify)

Preferred:

  • Experience with special needs populations
  • Knowledge of ABC data collection
  • Case management experience
  • CPI/NCI training
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $62,000 - $92,800, based on experience and qualifications.
