Onward Education is partnering with a school district in Maricopa County, AZ to find dedicated and compassionate Middle School Special Education Resource Room Teachers who will support students who benefit from targeted, specialized instruction while continuing to participate in the general education setting.

The Resource Room Teacher provides small-group and/or individualized instruction to middle school aged students who need additional support in specific academic or social-emotional areas,

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Comfortable providing individual and small-group instruction.
• Knowledge of IEPs and accommodations.
• Collaborative and communicative with school teams.
• Patient, compassionate, and student-centered.
• Committed to helping students build academic skills and independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room/pull-out setting.
• Work with students individually or in small groups based on needs.
• Provide targeted instruction in reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and social skills.
• Reinforce and build skills in general education settings.
• Develop and implement instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goals and services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress-monitoring data.
• Support students in becoming more independent in the general education environment.
