Job summary

Northshore School District 417 is seeking a Middle School Special Paraeducator for the school year. Under a certificated special education teacher, you will assist with instruction, behavior development and life skills for students with disabilities in learning centers or self-contained classrooms.

Responsibilities include student support, tutoring, materials prep, and data recording. You may assist in general ed classes and work on IEP goals, with emphasis on safety and collaboration with staff

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• One of the following: passing PESB assessment, an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with learning, behavior, social, daily living and physical development.
• Provide tutoring, organize and assist with lesson preparation and data recording.
• Support small groups and adapt lessons under the teacher's guidance.
• Help manage student behavior and safety in the classroom.
