Job summary

Oakland International Academy in Detroit, MI is seeking a Middle School Science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You will plan and deliver core science instruction, assess student progress, and support English language learners as needed.

The position offers a competitive base salary of $53,000–$63,000 with a potential $5,000 bonus, onsite schedule, and benefits including 401(k), full healthcare, PTO, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Integrated Science (DI) 6-12 Endorsement, or pursuing certification via ITC pathway.
• Experience teaching multilingual learners or English language learners (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver core science instruction matched to each student’s current level.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on results.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians on progress, behavior, and goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to improve curriculum and classroom practices.
