Job summary

Nampa School District is seeking a Security staff member at South Middle School to work under the principal and help create a safe learning environment for students and staff. You will collaborate with administration, teachers, and counselors; enforce boundaries; supervise students; report incidents; and uphold district policies.

A high school diploma or GED is required; prior security experience and experience with children are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous security experience is preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Administration, Teachers, and Counselors
• Sets boundaries with students and families
• Provide positive reinforcement and feedback
• Build relationships and provide stability for students
• Mediate between students
• Create a safe learning environment
• Encourage students to meet their potential
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Ensure security and safety of students and staff
• Assist with supervision before school, at lunch, and after school
• Report violations to Principal
• Advise administration of potentially harmful situations
• Escort students within the building when needed
• Monitor grounds for appropriate use of facilities
• Attend faculty meetings
• Pursue professional growth and development
• Seek assistance during emergencies
• Represent the school district positively
• Know and follow district policy and chain of command
• Perform other duties as assigned
