Job summary

Battle Creek Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic Robotics Coach for our Bearcats Beyond the Bell Middle School program. You will lead the robotics team, guide design, build, and programming of robots for competitions, and mentor students after school.

The role requires experience in robotics or engineering, familiarity with FIRST or VEX platforms, and the ability to manage after-school schedules and travel for contests. Competitive hourly pay at $17.

Qualifications

• Experience in robotics, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Coaching or mentoring experience with middle school students recommended.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Middle School Robotics team.
• Foster an inclusive environment and motivate all students.
• Guide design, construction, and programming of robots; teach robotics concepts.
• Oversee project planning, time management, and lab maintenance.
• Prepare team for local, regional, and national competitions; coordinate travel.
• Mentor students to develop problem solving and teamwork.
• Communicate with parents, school administration, and stakeholders.
