Job summary

Pocatello/Chubbuck School District No is seeking a Middle School Registrar at Hawthorne Middle School. The role focuses on building and maintaining the master schedule and the computerized student accounting system, including student schedules, grades and transcripts.

Strong computer and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work through interruptions are essential. The position reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal and operates in a general office environment.

Qualifications

  • English grammar and punctuation.
  • Current office practices and procedures.
  • Basic mathematical computations and statistical reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the master schedule and the computerized student accounting system including student schedules, grades and transcripts.
  • Organize data collected to construct the master schedule, review scheduling printouts and make adjustments as needed.
  • Learn, utilize and serve as system administrator of the student information system.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate student records.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Maintain records efficiently and accurately and to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions.
  • Perform time management and scheduling functions, meet deadlines, and set task priorities.
  • Maintain office, school, and individual confidentiality.

LOCATION:

Hawthorne Middle School

Forty hours per week.

SALARY SCHEDULE:

Rate of pay will be $17.80 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

The principal function is to build and maintain the master schedule and the computerized student accounting system including student schedules, grades and transcripts. The position requires strong computer skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to think and reason in a logical sequence and perform work accurately with numerous and frequent interruptions. The work is performed under the supervision of a school Principal or Assistant Principal. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have knowledge of:

ABILITY TO:
  • Perform the processes and procedures involved with student records, transcripts and registration;
  • Organize data collected to construct the master schedule, review scheduling printouts and make adjustments as needed;
  • Learn, utilize and serve as system administrator of the student information system;
  • Prepare and maintain accurate student records;
  • Follow written and oral instructions;
  • Maintain records efficiently and accurately and to prepare clear and concise reports;

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED equivalency, preferably supplemented with at least two years of college; and two years of administrative and computer experience, with some experience in scheduling. Demonstrated knowledge and use of various computer software programs or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
