Job summary

The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD, part of TLC - The Treatment and Learning Centers, has an immediate opening for a reading teacher/specialist to work with its middle school program. The role focuses on delivering targeted literacy instruction using evidence-based, structured literacy practices aligned to IEP goals.

Candidates must hold a Maryland Special Education Teaching Certification, a bachelor's degree, and be eligible to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Maryland Special Education Teaching certification required.
• Experience with learning disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities or health impairments preferred.
• Team oriented, reliable and professional attitude.
• Mastery of reading content area.
• Experience teaching reading strategies and study skills.
• Ability to analyze and develop curriculum and IEPs.

Responsibilities
