Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation as required by contract.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media suited to location and student needs.
• Implements district education philosophy, goals, and performance expectations.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports; communicates with parents as needed.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks district support as needed.
• Maintains safety and follows classroom conduct policies.
• Plans and supervises paraprofessional assignments; writes evaluations as required.
• Engages in ongoing professional growth to satisfy district requirements and personal development.
• Participates in teacher evaluation processes and collaborates with staff.
• Attends district meetings to promote communication and mutual decision making.
• Participates in school activities such as Back to School Night and Open House.

Education

Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mathematics license (Grades 5-8)

Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license

Master's Degree with content area license preferred
