Maret is looking for an inspiring and engaging middle school math teacher who embraces different teaching and learning styles while appreciating this special time in the lives of young students. The ideal candidate will embrace the opportunity to develop students’ curiosity, keen observation, and critical thinking. Maret seeks a teacher who creates innovative lessons, designs curriculum to address the needs of students today and into the future, and welcomes being part of a team that values and affirms every member of the community.

In addition to teaching math to three sections of sixth grade and one section of seventh grade, the teacher in this position serves as an advisor to a group of middle school students and, along with other advisors, plans community activities and supports student growth.

Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment for equity and inclusion in their work. Full-time positions include one or more community responsibilities; experience in computer science and/or coaching is a plus. This position is supervised by the Chair of the Mathematics Department.

As a Teacher, The Successful Candidate Will

• Have at least two years of demonstrated expertise in teaching mathematics at the middle school level
• Teach responsible citizenship and judicious use of technology as it relates to math
• Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with middle school students
• Be committed to professional development and collaboration with colleagues across disciplines
• Exhibit a deep passion for teaching and great enthusiasm for working with students of differing strengths
• Be able to create, curate, and organize instructional materials that are differentiated across various levels
• Have a master’s degree (preferred)
  
  

Compensation will start at $70,000 for a teacher entering their first year of teaching, with each additional year of teaching experience equaling approximately $1,000 to $1,500 in additional salary compensation.
