Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, flexible, and passionate online educator for our Upper School Math program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with middle school students, possesses excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and is responsive and nurturing to support students' transition from Lower School to Middle School. The candidate should be highly skilled in teaching 6th through 9th grade math, including Pre-algebra and Algebra 1, and capable of accommodating students with special needs. Middle School Computer Science teaching experience is a plus. Must be licensed and certified to teach middle school math.

The curriculum is primarily asynchronous, complemented by live virtual interactions. The educator should be comfortable with both modalities and enthusiastic about designing innovative ways to connect virtually. Collaboration is essential, as the role involves working closely with Math Department colleagues, Student Support Services, and the Academic Department Chair. Responsibilities include full-time remote teaching, sponsoring the Middle School Math Club (weekly from September to May), and participating in meetings and live events during Eastern Time business hours, including occasional evenings.

Job Duties:

• Deliver high-quality asynchronous and synchronous student learning via the school's learning management system and other platforms.
• Monitor student progress, intervene as needed, and ensure mastery and timely completion of coursework.
• Provide personalized, motivating, and constructive feedback on student assignments.
• Assist the curriculum team with content creation and course reviews.
• Communicate proactively with students, parents, counselors, staff, and administrators through various communication tools.
• Be accessible for virtual office hours, live instruction, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Teach Workshop courses with weekly live lessons as assigned.
• Participate in school-wide meetings, events, and activities, including some evening virtual events.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and self-assessment for continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student, family, staff, and operational information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Active teaching certification and compliance with background check regulations.
• Experience teaching grades 6-12, with preference for online, asynchronous, or blended learning experience.
• Proficiency with word processing, educational technology, G-Suite, Learning Management Systems, and Student Information Systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and evaluative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace during work hours (8:30 am - 5 pm ET).
• Periodic travel for training or in-person events may be required.

• This is a full-time, year-round salaried position, potentially requiring more than 40 hours per week.
