Qualifications

• Knowledge of reading instruction including foundational skills, comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary development.
• Knowledge of the cognitive science of reading.
• Understanding of perspectives in reading instruction (cognitive science and relational approaches).
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiated instruction.
• Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, spelling, writing.
• Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Tier II and Tier III reading instruction
• Administer diagnostic reading assessments and analyze the results
• Create evaluation instruments to monitor student progress and instruction effectiveness
• Track student progress using formal documentation
• Deliver professional learning to staff upon request
• Provide feedback to MTSS Team, administration and teaching staff
• Create and instruct individuals and small groups based on data
• Collaborate with staff and the Office of Instructional Services to ensure literacy intervention implementation
• Collaborate with outside consultants to build professional capacity
• Use effective organizational and communication skills
• Create a safe and productive learning environment fostering literacy
• Implement effective parental communication to support students' education
