Job summary

Windsor Public Schools in Windsor, CT, is seeking a Middle School Mathematics teacher at Sage Park Middle School to develop students' math skills and apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems.

You will collaborate with the STEM coach to plan lessons, administer interventions, assess progress, and maintain accurate records while fostering a safe and engaging classroom environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to teach middle school mathematics at a diverse learner population.
• Experience developing math interventions and tracking progress.
• Excellent documentation and communication with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Works with general education STEM coach to provide mathematics instruction.
• Develops and administers mathematics intervention consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Works with STEM coach to develop lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
