Job summary

Hope Youth Ranch in Hudson, Florida is seeking a Middle School Instructional Assistant to support classroom instruction and foster student growth. In this role, you will assist the Lead Teacher, providing individualized attention in intentionally small classrooms.

You will be responsible for supervising students, managing behavior, and collaborating with staff to implement effective academic support. A competitive pay rate of $15–$15.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, including paid holidays and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or classroom support experience.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.

Hope Ranch Learning Academy is a private Christian school in Hudson, Florida, set on a horse ranch. For over 20 years it has served students with Autism and other unique abilities. The school seeks vibrant, innovative, and experienced Middle School Instructional Assistants to support its growing student population.

Position Overview

As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting classroom instruction, supporting the Lead Teacher, and fostering the growth of middle school students. Classrooms are intentionally small—no more than 16 students—to provide individualized attention and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, ensuring they are creative, engaging, and tailored to both class and individual needs.
• Provide personalized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them maximize their potential.
• Supervise students during various school activities, including lunch, recess, and school outings, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
• Assist in managing student behavior, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher, school administration, and special education staff to implement effective academic support plans.
• Help maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, and contribute to progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (required).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or classroom support experience (required).
• Experience working with students with special needs (preferred).
• Comfortable participating in a Christian private school setting.
• Current and valid driver’s license; experience in classroom management and behavior modification techniques; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to provide proof of degree(s) and/or certification(s) and pass a Level 2 Background Clearance.
