Job summary

Willcox Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional at Willcox Middle School to support students in reading, language arts, math, and technology. Under supervision of certified staff, you will reinforce instructional programs and assist with materials, record-keeping, and parent communication.

The role includes supervising students in lunch, hallways, and study halls, and accompanying students on field trips and assessments.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of college-level coursework or passage of an examination.
Prior experience working with children, especially students with special needs, is desirable.
Experience working in an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist and guide students in reinforcing reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other academic skills.
Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement instructional programs.
Assist staff with administration, monitoring, and correction of classroom exercises, tests, assessments, and other activities.
Assist with classroom preparation and instructional materials according to individual student needs.
Assist with record-keeping procedures and documentation related to student learning and progress.
Supervise and assist in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, hallways, study halls).
Accompany students on field trips and school activities for supervision.
Assist with parent/guardian contact to promote communication and involvement.
