Job summary

Waco Independent School District (Waco ISD) seeks an Aide - Instructional to assist teachers in preparation and management of classroom activities. Work under supervision of certified teachers to support reading, writing, and math instruction.

The role requires an Associate degree or 60 college hours, plus a Texas educational aide certificate. Paraprofessional credentials and prior work with children are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college hours completed.
• Para Professional Institute Certificate is acceptable.
• Texas educational aide certificate required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under direct supervision of teacher.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individuals or small groups.
• Assist in classroom management and organization.
• Conduct parent involvement activities.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Assist with administering and scoring tests or work assignments.
• Maintain neat, orderly classroom and manage equipment.
• Prepare required reports and records with teachers.
• Orient and assist substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the school day including lunch, bus, and recess.
