Matchbook Learning is seeking a 6th Grade Flex Teacher at Wendell Phillips School 63 in Indianapolis. The role emphasizes reinforcing ELA writing and math, using rubrics and platforms, and using data to target gaps in real time.

You will track progress across ELA and math and collaborate with grade-level teams. The position supports stepping outside a single content area with comprehensive coaching, PBIS and restorative practices, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; strong preference for science/social studies/math/ELA backgrounds.
• Willingness to teach outside primary content area with coaching and support.
• Indiana teaching license OR enrolled in/willing to enroll in a state-approved transition-to-teaching program.
• Comfort with data and technology platforms; training provided.
• Genuine growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ELA writing skill reinforcement using rubrics and materials with 100% curriculum fidelity.
• Deliver math skill reinforcement using EnVision Math, Practice Buddy, and MathXL.
• Analyze platform data to identify targeted skills and reinforce gaps.
• Track student skill progression in ELA and math; communicate results to teachers.
• Participate in weekly/bi-weekly data meetings to align instruction with priorities.
• Implement SIOP-aligned strategies to support Multilingual Learners.
• Maintain a structured environment using PBIS and restorative practices.
• Participate in coaching cycles and instructional feedback sessions.
• Build relationships with students through conferencing and daily presence.
• Communicate with families and contribute to school-wide culture.
