Matchbook Learning seeks a Middle School Science Teacher for a departmentalized team, teaching one grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th) based on fit. The role emphasizes solid science content knowledge and willingness to be coached, with Elevate Science as the primary curriculum.

You will contribute to a data-informed approach using IXL and participate in coaching cycles, providing strong classroom management and family communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a quantitative field preferred.
• Strong science content knowledge at the middle school level.
• Genuine growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback.
• Valid Indiana teaching license OR enrolled in/willing to enroll in a state-approved transition-to-teaching program.

Responsibilities

• Teach science to one assigned middle school grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th; placement based on fit).
• Deliver instruction using Elevate Science curriculum with 100% fidelity.
• Use IXL data to inform daily and weekly instruction.
• Participate in weekly/bi-weekly data cycles to track student progress.
• Implement strategies to support Multilingual Learners in science instruction.
• Conduct student conferencing to build relationships and accountability.
• Maintain a structured, high-expectation classroom with PBIS.
• Engage in coaching cycles, walkthroughs, and professional development.
• Communicate proactively with families about student progress.
