Job summary

Pardes Jewish Day School in Scottsdale invites applications for SY 26/27 Middle School ELA Teachers. The successful candidate will inspire students, engage them in inquiry, and support project-based learning in a vibrant Judaic and secular curriculum.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Graduate degree preferred), 2–5 years of subject-area experience, and strong communication as well as collaboration with a dedicated team. In-person work, with competitive benefits and a supportive community.

Pardes Jewish Day School is a premier Jewish independent school for children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade, founded in 1993. Pardes is the largest Jewish Day School in Arizona, located in Scottsdale. SY 26/27 Middle School ELA Teachers

REPORTS TO: HoS, Principal and Assistant Principal

Job Purpose

The ideal candidate will inspire students to be excited about learning. The successful teacher will have grade-level expertise in their chosen subject and the ability to engage students in meaningful inquiry, problem-solving, Project Based Learning, and collaborative exploration are norms for teaching and learning at Pardes.

Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
• Two to five years of subject-area experience preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices with respect to pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Collect and utilize data to maintain tracking documents
• A strong understanding of the developmental and learning needs of middle school children, which includes social emotional development and study skills.
• Ability to provide differentiated instruction for specific lessons, skill sets, and/or units of study.
• Serve as an advisor for students
• Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well-being and academic success of students
• Excellent classroom management
• Ability to collaborate with other faculty, specialty teachers, staff, and administration
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Other requirements

• Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card at all times when in the classroom.
• May be required to work outside normal working hours.
• May be required to travel to perform work functions.
• Lifting and carrying heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.
