Job summary

Pardes Jewish Day School in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Middle School Math Teacher to inspire students to be excited about learning. The successful candidate will have grade-level expertise and engage learners with inquiry, problem-solving, Project Based Learning, and collaborative exploration that Pardes favors.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 2–5 years of subject-area experience, strong classroom management, and a commitment to inclusive practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • Two to five years of subject-area experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices with respect to pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Collect and utilize data to maintain tracking documents.
  • A strong understanding of the developmental and learning needs of middle school children, which includes social emotional development and study skills.
  • Ability to provide differentiated instruction for specific lessons, skill sets, and/or units of study.
  • Serve as an advisor for students.
  • Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well-being and academic success of students.
  • Excellent classroom management
  • Ability to collaborate with other faculty, specialty teachers, staff, and administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

Job description

Pardes Jewish Day School is a premier Jewish independent school for children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade, founded in 1993. Pardes is the largest Jewish Day School in Arizona, located in Scottsdale. Middle School Math Teachers
REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal
JOB PURPOSE:

The ideal candidate will inspire students to be excited about learning. The successful teacher will have grade-level expertise in their chosen subject and the ability to engage students in meaningful inquiry, problem-solving, Project Based Learning, and collaborative exploration are norms for teaching and learning at Pardes.

Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • Two to five years of subject-area experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices with respect to pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Collect and utilize data to maintain tracking documents

Other requirements:
  • Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card at all times when in the classroom.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.
