District in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking a Middle School English Language Arts teacher for the second semester of the 2026/27 school year (January 25, 2027). The role is up to 1.0 FTE with in-person responsibilities at either East Middle School or West Middle School.

Starting salary is based on teaching experience. Applications reviewed as received; in-person interviews begin December 2026. Salary range and duties per district policy apply.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Secondary Education.
• Must be highly qualified in the subject matter assigned.
• Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an elementary or secondary (K-8, 5-9, 6-12 or 7-12 grade band) English (BA) or Language Arts (BX) endorsement area. Additional endorsement areas preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate success in area of application.

Responsabilidades

• Teaches district-approved curriculum.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules and maintains order in the classroom.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks district specialist assistance as required.
• Evaluates pupils’ growth and keeps records and progress reports.
• Is available to students and parents outside instructional day.
• Supervises classroom, students and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
