Louisiana Key Academy, a Baton Rouge charter school for dyslexic students, seeks highly motivated middle school teacher to train in project-based and evidence-based practices for teaching dyslexic children.


Requirements


  • Ability to be creative and bring subjects to life through projects, hands on learning, demonstrations, and critical thinking activities

  • Evidence of a growth mindset for student potential and academic growth

  • A strong desire to receive rigorous, ongoing professional training to deeply understand dyslexia and the effect of dyslexia on academic life

  • An open-minded attitude toward academic instruction, including a willingness to “work outside the box” of traditional instructional methods

  • A willingness to receive and implement feedback regarding instructional practices

  • Evidence of strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Willingness to participate in highly collaborative lesson planning and teaching situations

  • Evidence of individualized, interactive teaching philosophy
