Job summary

Williamston Community Schools seeks a Middle School ELA Long-Term Substitute to cover a temporary vacancy and maintain continuity in instruction. The role reports to the Building Principal and requires an approved EduStaff sub credential and a Michigan English teaching certificate.

The substitute will deliver effective instruction, engage diverse learners, and communicate with families and staff to support student growth during the November 1, 2026 to January 18, 2027 period.

Qualifications

• Must be approved to sub through EduStaff.
• Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate for English.

• Successful preparation for and attainment of high student achievement through effective instructional practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with students of all ability levels to meet their academic, behavioral, and emotional needs; proven ability to communicate with parents and other educators.
• Strong interpersonal skills with secondary students.
• Ability to foster a classroom culture that is engaging, student-focused, and effectively managed. Familiarity with MTSS.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with professional learning communities.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The individual in this position must be approved to sub through EduStaff.
• Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate for English
