POSITION: Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher - Discovery Elementary
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Certification in one or more areas of special education
- The individual must be approved to sub through EduStaff
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other school personnel to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
- Develop and implement specially designed instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and identified needs.
- Provide direction, collaboration, and support to paraprofessionals to promote effective implementation of student programs and accommodations.
- Facilitate Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and IEP meetings and complete all related case management responsibilities.
- Facilitate student support and team meetings as needed.
- Implement positive behavioral supports and interventions consistent with student needs and IEPs.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
- Establish and maintain consistent, ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and programming.
- Collaborate with related service providers and other members of the educational team to ensure coordinated delivery of services.
SALARY: $150-$200 per day, depending upon qualifications
