Job summary

Santa Rosa City Schools is seeking a dedicated Middle School Coach to mentor student-athletes during the season. The role involves teaching sport skills, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety across practices, games, and travel.

Responsibilities include supervising students in various settings, upholding district policies on behavior, and applying the Pursuing Victory With Honor framework endorsed by CIF. Experience with youth sports and formal training in child development are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching and coaching the sport.
• Training in child development or youth coaching.
• Coaching experience with middle school youth preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification or readiness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Coach and instruct students in a sport, including proper equipment use and rules.
• Supervise students in locker rooms, practices, competitions, and on buses.
• Maintain student discipline and prevent hazing, harassment, and discrimination.
• Apply the 'Pursuing Victory With Honor' principles as adopted by CIF.
• Maintain inventory and care of equipment and facilities.
• Assess student performance and make coaching decisions without regard to outside affiliations.
