Job summary

Santa Rosa City Schools is seeking a Middle School Coach to lead a sport at the site level. The role involves teaching sport skills, ensuring safety, and guiding athletes through practice and game schedules.

You will work under the Principal and Athletic Director, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and alignment with district policies. Requires experience coaching, strong communication, and ability to supervise students in transit and at events.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of injury prevention and safe coaching practices.
• Ability to motivate and engage middle school students during practices and games.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Coach students in a sport and teach proper equipment use and rules.
• Supervise students during practices, competitions, and transport.
• Maintain student discipline and prevent hazing, harassment, and discrimination.
• Apply PVWH principles as adopted by the Board and CIF.
• Maintain equipment and facility inventory and care.
• Assess student performance and coaching decisions without regard to outside affiliations.
