Job summary

You will plan engaging, developmentally appropriate practices, teach sport fundamentals, and foster teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or working with middle school-aged students
• Strong knowledge of the sport(s) being coached
• Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and opponents
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before season)

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate practices
• Teach sport-specific fundamentals with emphasis on teamwork, effort and sportsmanship
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture
• Collaborate with Middle School Athletics Director to set goals and expectations
• Support social and emotional development of student-athletes
• Communicate with families using school platforms
• Attend all practices, games, playoffs, and championships as applicable
• Assist with equipment setup/breakdown
• Manage attendance, uniforms, and safety per policies
• Represent CDS with professionalism and integrity
