Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject/level assigned.
• Middle School English Language Arts Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment; ESL certification for all other MS Teachers preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum; provide evidence of preparation.
• Accommodate differences in student learning styles in instruction and materials.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Plan and supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteers; coordinate with staff to meet objectives.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff.
