Job Description

Rochester Academy Charter School is currently seeking candidates for Building Substitute Teaching position. This is a great chance to learn our school culture and enjoy a flexible working environment. This position includes guaranteed daily work, benefits and a competitive salary with per diem sub work. This is a 10 month position.

This position requires a minimum of an Associates Degree.

Responsibilities Include

• Filling in for classes when teachers are out of the classroom
• Support students struggling with behavior and emotional challenges and mentoring young people
• Occasional tutoring support in high needs areas
• Assisting in the classroom when there is no subbing need
• Flexibility to take on different classrooms any day
• Developing relationships with students
• Learning basic special education interventions to use when subbing for special educators

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. Over 90% of our students identify as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship.
