Job summary

Brownfield ISD’s Brownfield Middle School is seeking a Classroom Instructional Aide to support Emergent Bilingual students under the supervision of licensed teachers. You will assist with instructional materials, assessments, and classroom management, while contributing to a safe, organized learning environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork with teachers, readiness to supervise students across campus areas, and compliance with district safety policies. Immediate start is requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college preferred.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Some experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to Emergent Bilingual students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise Emergent Bilingual students during school day (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Notify teachers of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty activities.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
