Job summary

Upbring, Lutheran Social Services of the South, is seeking a Teacher's Aide to support children in an instructional setting in Brownsville, TX. The position involves assisting teachers with lesson planning, providing group and individual support, and promoting a positive learning environment aligned with Texas standards and program goals.

Qualified candidates will be bilingual in Spanish, possess at least a High School diploma, and have experience in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Experience in educational setting preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bilingual in Spanish based on service population.
• Ability to develop and implement early childhood curriculum.
• Strong computer skills; high proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group instructional support to children.
• Assist classroom teachers with planning and development of instruction.
• Create and foster a positive learning environment supporting development.
• Assist with planning, preparation and development of instructional materials.
• Oversee lesson delivery when teacher is absent and maintain classroom management.
• Collaborate with teacher to follow established schedules and transitions smoothly.
• Assist with physical education class, set up equipment and supervise activities.
• Prepare class materials, copies and distribute worksheets as required.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and disinfect materials as needed.
• Apply positive reinforcement techniques for behavior management.
• Serve as Lead for the education department when Lead Techer Aide is out.
