Ashland School District is seeking an Afterschool Choir Teacher for the middle school level at the TRAILS site to provide high-quality group instruction in an afterschool program. The role emphasizes a positive, engaging environment that builds students' musical skills and teamwork.

The teacher will foster foundational choir skills, prepare students for performances, and coordinate with staff, families, and the program coordinator to support student learning throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Education/experience in music education or related field.
• Ability to model vocal techniques.
• Experience leading or coaching student activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging afterschool group lessons for middle school choir students.
• Teach beginning and intermediate choir techniques.
• Prepare students for informal performances, showcases, or concerts.
• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with the program coordinator, school staff, and families regarding student progress.
• Ensure proper care, storage and handling of instruments and materials.
• Uphold school policies regarding student safety and behavior.
• Attend work regularly and be punctual.
• Complete required online training by the district deadline.
