Independent School District 15 is seeking a Day Cleaner/Custodian for the mid-shift at St. Francis Middle School (6-8).

Immediate vacancy with duties to provide daily cleaning, sanitation, and daytime custodial support to maintain a clean, safe school environment. Requires ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow written/verbal instructions; independent work and professional communication with students and staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions; work independently.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemical handling, floor care, and custodial equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, strip, finish, and maintain floors.
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners.
• Disinfect restrooms and high-touch surfaces.
• Assist with cafeteria setup and cleanup.
• Respond to spills and safety needs during the day.
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Perform light repairs and maintenance within training.
• Inspect areas and report safety issues.
• Assist with building security and snow removal.
• Light boiler checks when licensed.
• Provide building coverage as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
