Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex Java-based software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will collaborate with a skilled team to deliver robust software solutions that meet client needs and stay ahead of industry developments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering with modern Java frameworks, RESTful services, and microservices, and can work on-site at Fort Meade, MD.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in Software Engineering with Modern Java frameworks and libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava)
• Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services
• Experience with microservices architecture and OOP paradigms
• Familiarity with agile software lifecycle and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team
• Willingness to work on customer site at Fort Meade, MD 4-5 days a week

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software capabilities for complex systems
• Design, develop, and implement software features with modern tools
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Integrate AI agents and ensure secure, efficient code with audits
• Write robust unit and integration tests
• Contribute to multi-repo architectures and maintain context in AI workflows
• Perform troubleshooting under deadlines and fast-paced environments
