Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work with fellow engineers to create robust software solutions and stay current with new technologies.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-person collaboration in Columbia, MD, and opportunities to work remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java and modern frameworks.
• Experience designing enterprise APIs, RESTful services, and microservices.
• Proficiency with Linux, Git, Nexus, and Maven in an Agile environment.
• Clearance required or ability to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Java-based software capabilities for complex systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate AI agents and automated testing.
• Maintain and evolve microservices within enterprise API ecosystems.
• Ensure security, performance, and architectural alignment across multi-repo setups.
