Overview

• The practice supports a sophisticated energy commercial transactions practice, representing developers, technology companies, energy market participants, investors, utilities, and emerging energy businesses.
• The role focuses on energy commercial contracts and transaction work across the energy and digital infrastructure sectors, with a significant component anticipated in data center-related energy.
• Opportunities are available for traditional energy commercial work, including for renewable and battery storage developers, and advising on renewable energy credit (REC) transactions and wholesale/retail energy market matters.
• Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements (energy supply, development, procurement, operational) and supporting transactions involving energy project development, financing, acquisitions, and asset sales.
• The role involves counseling clients on energy matters across renewable energy, distributed energy resources, storage, transmission, demand response, energy efficiency, and decarbonization initiatives.
• Candidates should possess strong drafting and negotiating skills, the ability to independently manage some deal components, and familiarity with state and federal energy regulatory frameworks, utility operations, or renewable energy development; a strong commercial transaction background with a proven interest in energy will also be considered.
